A crowd cheered as Florida Gov Ron DeSantis signed a new bill in Palm Beach aimed at curbing access to mail-in voting in the state. DeSantis, a Republican, said the bill would “increase transparency and strengthen the security of our elections.” NBC News reported that “Democrats and activists warn [the bill] could suppress voter turnout.” The signing was conducted without local media present; it was instead broadcast live on Fox News, according to media reports. Jay O’Brien, a reporter with CBS12, said: “We were a pool camera, assigned to feed this event to affiliates nationwide.
