A man accused of attacking an Asian man in New York City was arrested and charged with attempted murder in what police classified as a hate crime. Jarrod Powell was arrested on Tuesday. The victim, Yao Pan Ma, is a 61-year-old Chinese immigrant. 4. Lawyers for the family of Andrew Brown Jr., a Black man gunned down by sheriff's deputies last week in North Carolina, said a private autopsy showed he died from a "kill shot" to the back of his head, and the FBI opened a civil rights probe of the shooting. 5.
