Minnesota police officer Kim Potter resigned in the wake of protests following the killing of Duante Wright during a traffic stop The Minnesota Police Chief resigned too. He called the killing apparent accident. 2. A Kenosha, Wisconsin policeman cleared of criminal wrongdoing after shooting Jacob Blake in the back last August returned to duty. Officer Rusten Sheskey shot Blake seven times in an incident caught on video that sparked racial justice protests last August. 3. Derek Chauvin trial day 12: Defense attorneys in the murder trial of ex-police officer Derek Chauvin called an expert witness who testified that the former Minneapolis police officer was justified and reasonable in his use of force during his arrest of George Floyd. Witness Shawanda Hill gave testimony that she was in the car with George Floyd and that he appeared happy in a store but fell asleep several times when they were in the car. 4. Joe Biden will pull U.S. troops from Afghanistan. The announcement of a complete U.S. withdrawal by Sept. 11 aims to close the book on America’s longest war. 5.
