Salvage teams fighting to free the Ever Given container ship are removing part of the Suez Canal’s bank, as the rescue mission enters a critical phase. “The coming 24 hours will be crucial,” said Peter Berdowski, CEO of Boskalis, which is part of the salvage effort. “Tomorrow between 4 and 5 a.m. will be a tense moment. A lot will depend on the soil under the ship, but I’d give it a 50% chance that we will succeed.” Dredging and digging continues, and another tug is on the way to the giant vessel stranded in one of the world’s most important trade paths.
