Nigeria received its first batch of coronavirus vaccines under the COVAX scheme on Tuesday. The vaccines provided by pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca arrived on an Emirates cargo plane at an airport in Abuja. The shipment of 3.92 million vaccine doses made Nigeria the third country in the world to receive the virus vaccine through the World Health Organization's COVAX scheme. The vaccines will first be administered to health workers, according to the Nigerian government.
