As the House opens its impeachment hearing, Speaker Nancy Pelosi welcomed National Guard members who have been called in to help with security after last week's storming of the Capitol. Pelosi thanked a group of National Guard members and then went inside the Capitol to oversee the impeachment hearing. Up to 15,000 Guard members are expected to be on duty in coming days in the district to support law enforcement in connection with the Jan. 20 inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden. President Donald Trump is on the verge of being impeached for a second time, with an afternoon vote expected in the House. He faces a single charge, "incitement of insurrection," after telling a mob of loyalists to, as he put it, "fight like hell" against election results.
