President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris held a virtual round table discussion with business and labor leaders Monday, to discuss the U.S. path to economic recovery post COVID. Following the meeting, Biden plans to deliver remarks on his proposal for safe business practices amidst the virus and how to get the economy back on track, in the middle of a global pandemic. Speaking to the group on a large screen, Biden said he thinks they're all in agreement that "we can't just build back the economy." "We gotta build it back better than it was. And I think there's a lot of opportunity," Biden said. Participants of Biden's virtual roundtable included labor leaders from the AFL-CIO and AFSCME as well as business leaders, including the CEOs of General Motors, Microsoft, Target and Gap. Biden joked that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for bringing both labor and business leaders together.
