Activists in Washington, D.C. are banding together on Election Day as Americans wait for the 2020 presidential election results. Groups led by Black Lives Matter and Shutdown DC plan an eight-hour event at Black Lives Matter Plaza, one block from the White House. A steady crowd could be seen gathering at the fence line as the sun set Tuesday evening. Many people stopped to take photographs through the fence of the White House. The rally preparations brought together a diverse constellation of groups, some decades old and others just formed.
