Several people were arrested by Louisville police on September 25, which saw the third night of protests after a grand jury’s decision over the case of the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor. A county-wide curfew was in place for Louisville in response to the protests which began on September 23 following the handing down of the grand jury’s decision. A local journalist reported those arrested were walking the streets after curfew. Former Louisville Metro Police Department officer Brett Hankison was charged with three counts of wanton endangerment in the first degree; his bond was set at $15,000. Hankison was fired from the police force on June 23 for his role in the shooting of Taylor. Sgt Jonathan Mattingly and detective Myles Cosgrove, the other two officers who fired their weapons while trying to serve a search warrant on Taylor’s apartment in the early hours of March 13, were not charged.
