Storm Beta dumped more than 14 inches of rain on Harris County, Texas, as of Wednesday, September 23, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Beta hit the Texas coast as a tropical storm on Monday night but weakened to a tropical depression by Tuesday morning, the NWS said. The storm prompted flash flooding across Houston and the greater Harris County area. This footage, livestreamed by Elroy Mcdaniel on Wednesday, shows flooding near the White Oak Bayou in Houston. Mcdaniel said on Facebook that the sidewalks were “completely” under water but that the high water was quickly receding.
