Firefighters said they were working to protect communities threatened by the Bobcat Fire in Los Angeles County, California, on Monday, September 14. The Bobcat Fire had grown to more than 41,000 acres as of Tuesday and was three percent contained, officials said. A number of evacuation orders and warnings have been issued. Fire officials said they will continue to use “strategic” back-burning operations on the ground and retardant drops from the air to slow the spread of the blaze. This video, posted by the Downey Fire Department on Monday, shows firefighters battling the Bobcat Fire.
