New Orleans Residents Fill Sandbags Ahead of Hurricane Sally
New Orleans residents prepared sandbags ahead of Tropical Storm Sally, which was forecast to bring strong winds and flooding to the region by Monday, September 14, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
The NHC said the storm could bring “life-threatening” flash flooding to parts of the Gulf, including portions of the Florida panhandle and Louisiana.
Mandie Landry, a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, said this footage, posted on Sunday, shows people filling sandbags in the New Orleans neighborhood of Gentilly.
