Friends of Aaron “Jay” Danielson, killed in clashes with Black Lives Matter protesters in Portland over the weekend, said Monday he was not an extremist, and pledged not to interfere with any police investigations into his death. Danielson, a supporter of the Patriot Prayer group, died on Saturday. "Aaron Jay Danielson was not a radical, he was not a racist and he was not a fascist," said his business partner Luke Carillo at a news conference in Portland. "He was a freedom-loving American who died expressing his beliefs." A small memorial took shape Monday near where he died. Police said Danielson, 39, died of a gunshot wound to the chest. No arrests have yet been made in the case.
