Hong Kong Activist Simon Cheng Envisions Parliament-in-Exile
A former employee of the British consulate in Hong Kong has been granted political asylum in what he believes was the first successful U.K. asylum case ever granted to a Hong Konger by the former British colony.
As the newly-imposed China National Security Law has worried many in Hong Kong, Cheng is planning to help fellow Hong Kong people who plan to seek asylum overseas, and is proposing to set up a parliament-in-exile.
Cheng has recently launched a new group "HongKongers in Britain" which aims to bring together a community in the U.K. and assist their life in the country.
