Tropical Depression Three forms in the Bay of Campeche

Monday afternoon the National Hurricane Center upgraded the tropical disturbance in the Bay of Campeche to Tropical Depression Three. The storm had been a disorganized system drifting across the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, but it emerged over the open water of the southwestern Gulf and now has an identifiable center of circulation, which is why it was upgraded.
