George Floyd Protests: Blue Lives Matter Flag Set on Fire in Brooklyn
Demonstrators set a Blue Lives Matter flag on fire in Brooklyn during protests against the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a white officer pressed his knee into Floyd’s neck for more than 8 minutes as he pleaded for air.
He later died of his injuries and the officer, Derek Chauvin, was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter on Friday.
Floyd's death has seen protesters to take to the Minneapolis streets for four consecutive nights, and sparked unrest in cities across the country.
Violent protests also took place in New York on Friday, and officers were seen surrounding the city's 78th precinct in Brooklyn.
