E-cigarette ban: Union Cabinet approves ordinance to stop manufacture, sale

The Union government announced its decision to ban e-cigarettes in India on Wednesday. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while addressing the media, said that e-cigarettes pose a health risk to people, especially the youth. The ordinance cleared by the Cabinet makes production, import, export, distribution, sale and advertising of e-cigarettes a cognisable offence. Those who already possess e-cigarettes will be required to deposit them at a police station. Watch the full video for more.
