The Chinese video app TikTok's journey in India came to an abrupt end after a court in Tamil Nadu requests govt to ban the app saying that it encouraged pornography and warning that sexual predators could target child users. The Chinese video app developed by Bytedance Technology is no longer available in Google and Apple app stores in India after the govt sent a letter requesting Apple and Google to abide by the Madras high court's order. TikTok is hugely popular in India and had been downloaded more than 240 million times.
