Strasbourg: shooter shouted "Allahu Akbar" says prosecutor (English)

The man suspected of carrying out a fatal shooting attack in Strasbourg on Tuesday (December 11) night had cried out "Allahu Akbar" during the attack, said Paris prosecutor Remy Heitz on Wednesday (December 12). Police have identified the suspect as Strasbourg-born Cherif Chekatt, 29, who is on an intelligence services watch list as a potential security risk. At a news conference in Strasbourg, Remy Heitz gave details of the suspect's journey and how he used both a hand gun and a knife to kill and injure people. He said the security services were still searching for the suspect. The Paris prosecutor also said Chekatt had already been convicted 27 times in France but also Germany and Switzerland.
